AAC Bond Adhesive (Block Fix)

AAC blokfix is a non-refractory mortar, used for laying masonry units like AAC blocks. It is a self-curing mortar made from cement, sand, and polymeric additives, which ensure excellent bonding and durable strength between the blocks.

Ready to mix Self curing Easy to use High compressive strength Good coverage High bond strength Wall cladding Crack free Single component product No shrinkage & leakage.

Surface Preparation

  • Pre wet the blocks and ensure it is touch dry before mortar is applied.
  • The surface for mounting must be thoroughly cleaned of all laitance, loose materials, oil, grease etc.
  • Ensure that surface is flat, structurally sound and free from any other contamination which would reduce the bond  strength.
  • The respective surface should be free from voids, holes and cracks.

Mixing

  • Gradually add 2.5 parts of powder to 1 part of water (by volume) and mix it for 5-10 minutes to achieve smooth paste consistency.
  • Attempt to be made to break the lump during mixing so that maximum dispersion of polymer takes place in the mortar resulting into good bonding strength with the blocks.
  • After mixing allow the paste to stand for 2-3 minutes to mature and again mix it for paste consistency.
  • Do not attempt to extend the pot life by adding more water to the mixed adhesive.

Application Methodology

  • Put well mixed weber blokfix on the block with help of trowel, spread mortar uniformly on the unit.
  • Apply notch trowel on the mortar and firmly place the block with slight shear to ensure good transfer & bonding.
  • Weber blokfix to be applied on the faces of the block and on column and beam, material to be applied on both i.e surfaces as well as on block to ensure good bonding at the joints.
  • Use rubber hammer to have good contact between the blocks.
  • Go on placing the blocks with above method and erect the wall.

About this product

  • Always clean the surface before application to remove any loose particles or laitance.
  • Ensure that the surface is solid (hard and rigid) for the given application and free from voids, holes, and cracks. Pre-wetting of blocks.
  • Mix powder to water (as per mixing ratio) and blend to a smooth, workable stiff paste.
  • Always add the powder to water.
  • Allow the mix to stand for 2-3 min for the paste to mature.
  • Do not add water to the already mix slurry to extend the pot life.
  • Put well-mixed mortar on the block with the help of trowel spread mortar uniformly on the unit for the specified bed thickness.
  • Firmly place the block with slight shear to ensure proper transfer and bonding.
  • Mortar to be applied on the block and column and beam for good bonding at the joints.
